What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a custom made set of clear, almost invisible braces that you can easily remove for meals, brushing and social occasions. The aligners are custom made using the latest 3D printing technology. They are changed every 2 weeks as they incrementally move your teeth into your ideal position.

Invisalign Open Day

We're hosting an Invisalign open day on Tuesday 20th March. This is an exclusive event with limited spaces. Register soon for your free consultation with an Invisalign expert and Bloom & Gonsai orthodontist including a free digital scan and projection.

Invisalign Vs Traditional Braces

Like contact lenses for your teeth, Invisalign are virtually invisible with no metal at all.

Invisalign can be removed for meals and social occasions. As easy to remove and rewear like a pair of gloves.

As Invisalign are removable they have no impact on how clean you can keep your teeth. In fact, many wearers find wearing Invisalign makes it easier to make healthier choices.

This first visit is to really understand what you want to achieve and to ensure which orthodontic treatment is right for you. We may take photos of your teeth and take impressions of your teeth.

When you decide to proceed your impressions are sent to Invisalign who create a video simulation of how your teeth will look at each stage along with your custom, virtually invisible aligners.

Within 3 weeks of your first appointment, we call you in to the practice to show you how to wear and care for your aligners. You change your braces every 2 weeks and remove the aligners for meals and brushing.

After the first couple of months you and others will start to notice a difference in your smile. You are likely to be completing your treatment soon and enjoying the improvements in your smile!

How discreet are Invisalign aligners?

While Invisalign aligners aren’t invisible they’re very inconspicuous. In most cases you’ll be able to have conversations with friends and family without them even realising that you’re wearing your aligners.

Is invisalign suitable for everyone?

No brace is suitable for everyone, but you’ll be pleased to hear that Invisalign can be used to straighten the majority of mild to moderate cases. You can find out if Invisalign is right for you during a free no-obligation consultation.

Will Invisalign affect my speech?

You may have a slight lisp at first, but you’ll quickly get used to your aligners and should be talking clearly and confidently within a few days.

Are Invisalign aligners comfortable?

Invisalign aligners have been designed with your comfort in mind using ‘transparent polycrystalline alumina’ – a clear, smooth material that incidentally was designed by NASA. Invisalign also has the benefit of having no metal wires or brackets, which can sometimes cause discomfort at the beginning of treatment.

How often do I need to wear my aligners?

You need to wear your aligners for around 20 to 22 hours a day, but you can take them out for eating, drinking, brushing and contact sports.

How much does Invisalign cost?

Invisalign treatment at Bloom & Gonsai starts from £3,000(£1,250 for Invisalign Lite), which can be split into affordable monthly payments. Also, don’t forget to keep an eye out for special offers.

How do I remove my Invisalign aligners?

Watch this video for an easy how to use remove your aligners tutorial:

What should I do if I loose one of my Invisalign aligners?

If you misplace one of your aligners, get in touch with us as soon as you can. In the meantime you can wear an aligner from your previous set to stop your teeth moving too far out of line. In some cases we might suggest that you move straight to your next set of aligners.

What is Invisalign made from?

Invisalign aligners are made out of transparent polycrystalline alumina (TPA), which was originally developed by NASA for missile tracking! Its smooth and transparent properties make this material an excellent choice for ‘invisible’ braces.

Will I need to wear retainers following my treatment?

Yes, once you’ve completed your treatment you’ll be given fixed and/or removable retainers. These will make sure your teeth stay in their new position.

Orthodontic Solutions

As well as offering Invisalign's full, Lite and i7 we also offer other orthodontic solutions. These include Six Month Smiles, Inman aligners, C fast, Social 6, Lingual orthodontics and Damon. We will discuss all the options available to you when you attend your free consultation at Bloom and Gonsai, on Weymouth Street, London.

6 Month Smiles

Six Month Smiles is a name and treatment times may vary from 6 - 9 months and may take longer for more complex cases.

6 Month Braces work using clear brackets and wiring so that they look discreet within the mouth. They also focus solely on teeth that are visible when you smile rather than all the teeth, meaning they are faster than traditional fixed braces and look much more discreet in the mouth.

Damon Braces

Damon braces offer a fast and comfortable fixed braces orthodontic solution.

Instead of using elastic bands, the innovative Damon braces use tiny clips to hold the wires in place on the brackets. This causes less friction so that teeth can be straightened much quicker.

The braces are made up of a mixture of white and metal materials and the brackets are much smaller than traditional brackets. Although they are not "invisible" like some other modern orthodontic braces, they are very discreet and can be worn with confidence.

Inman Aligner

The Inman Aligner is a removable appliance which offers patients a faster alternative to treat tooth misalignment. It is generally used to treat the front teeth and could be described as mix between removable aligners and more traditional fixed braces.

Although the Inman Aligner is not as discreet as other braces such as Invisalign aligners, it does have a range of advantages similar to Invisalign. They are removable so you can eat and clean your teeth as normal. Also, you only need to wear the one appliance rather than a series of aligners every few weeks.
