Dr. Raj Gonsai
Described by both peers and patients alike as a ‘highly committed and skilled practitioner’, Raj’s special interests lie in all aspects of routine and advanced restorative dentistry, cosmetics and full mouth rehabilitations. Raj has a meticulous and precise approach to his work focussing upon trusted, evidence-based, modern approaches to care that has led to a reputation of only offering the very best in quality of treatment and standards of care for his patient base in the heart of the Harley Street medical district.
Raj graduated from St. Bartholomew’s & The Royal London Hospital School of Medicine and Dentistry having been awarded numerous clinical distinctions during the continually assessed undergraduate course. With over 19 years of experience in successful clinical practice, his postgraduate awards include Certificates in Surgical and Prosthodontic Implantology, Removable Partial Dentures and Applied Clinical Materials, leading to him being awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Restorative Dental Practice by the UCL Eastman Dental Institute. Feeding a further desire to provide the very best of care for his patients, he then followed this by undertaking a Masters Degree in Conservative Dentistry from the prestigious Eastman Dental Hospital (UCL) allowing a focus on his main interest in the field of Prosthodontics, the branch of dentistry concerned with restoring or replacing damaged or missing teeth.
His ongoing achievements and focus on quality based, high standards of patient care led to Raj being invited to join our dental practice in 2007. Quickly establishing himself within a patient base that has been present with the practice for over seventy years, a natural progression saw him taking over the ownership from Barry Bloom in 2010. Raj practises here four days a week and continues with his strong commitment to postgraduate education by attending a wide range of courses and conferences both at home and abroad. He is a member of The British Society for Restorative Dentistry, The British Dental Association and the International Team for Implantology (ITI).
Dr. Barry Bloom
Barry qualified with honours from the London Hospital Dental School in 1963, recognised during his undergraduate course for his commitment to quality and receiving awards in Conservative dentistry. After continuing with his postgraduate training as a House Surgeon and working as a Principal dentist running a successful NHS clinic, he moved his list to the Harley Street medical district and joined the practice in Cavendish Square in 1974.
Running the practice according to his philosophy of conservative care using state of the art techniques, Barry’s commitment to family dentistry and providing a high standard of care have seen the practice continue to grow through recommendation alone since that time to now boast a patient base from around the world.
Barry attends courses both in the UK and abroad, offering the very best in new treatments in modern dentistry. He has been trained in facial aesthetics, offering Botox and Filler treatments to his patients for over ten years. He is fully registered with the General Dental Council and is a member of the following associations.
Dr. Nina Dollay
Nina carried out her dental undergraduate studies at the St. Bartholomew’s & The Royal London Hospital School of Medicine and Dentistry, completing an intercalated BSc prior to her qualification in 1999 with honours. Her commitment to excellence within dentistry meant that she graduated as one of the most decorated members of her peer group, receiving undergraduate prizes in the fields of both Oral Surgery and Endodontology upon completing her degree.
Her enthusiasm for providing specialised care within the hospital environment at a post-graduate level led to her completing posts at the Manchester Dental Hospital, where she gained experience teaching and was awarded her fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Her keen commitment to postgraduate learning has led to her complete advanced certificates in dental mono-specialities including Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, and contributed towards her being awarded a Diploma in Orthodontics from Bristol University. Working within hospital based, private paediatric and general dental practice settings during her postgraduate career, she has over fifteen years experience in providing orthodontic treatment at all levels and is familiar with all of the modern approaches to care, including Invisalign and Damon systems.
Nina joins the practice having completed a Masters in Endodontology from the St. Bartholomew’s & The Royal London Hospital School of Medicine and Dentistry, and we are proud to welcome her to our team. Despite amassing a vast wealth of experience in all aspects of dental practice during her career to date, she now chooses to limit her practice to her special interests in Orthodontics and Endodontics. Nina has a full registration with the General Dental Council, the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the British Endodontic Society.
Miss Zaneta Stankaityte
Zaneta joined the practice in in 2015 and has quickly established herself as a key member of staff here at Bloom & Gonsai Dental. She has a keen interest in all aspects of patient care and clinical management within the practice, having amassed a vast experience in assisting with complex treatments at the practice.
Her current interest is in Dental Imaging and she is currently in the process of completing her certificate in Dental Radiography with the British Dental Association.
Dr. Asha Dwarakanath
Asha qualified from Leeds university in 1992 and has been in practice for over 20 years. As part of ongoing postgraduate education, she completed a one year course in cosmetic dentistry including all aspects of indirect and direct restorations and bleaching. A 3 part occlusion course with Roy Higson and Bill Cromcovich.
She gained her certificate in restorative dentistry from Eastman dental institute. She is a member of WIBN. She is fully registered with the GDC.
Asha has a special interest in clear aligners including invisalign, Smilelign and in line. And cosmetic dentistry including facial rejuvenation and children’s dentistry. Asha is one of the official dentists for OPRO and responsible for taking impressions at various schools and sports club for making mouthguards.

Dr. Steve Bassi
Dr Bassi qualified from the University of London in 1993, and after five years of general professional training completed the Royal College Fellowship in Dental Surgery examination in 1998. In 1999 Dr Bassi enrolled on a five-year specialist registrar training programme in restorative dentistry which was completed in January 2004. During this time, he also carried out research for which he was awarded the Master of Dental Science research degree with distinction. The period of specialist training allowed Dr Bassi to acquire extensive experience in all aspects of restorative dentistry, including prosthodontics, implantology, and periodontics on which he has lectured and published widely.
He is now a consultant in restorative dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital, Honorary Clinical Associate Professor of University College London and an examiner for the Membership in Implant Dentistry and Membership in Periodontology at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Dr Bassi lectures and provides clinical training to postgraduate students and NHS trainees, as well as other dental practitioners.
Dr Bassi is on the specialist lists for Periodontics, Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry. He has a caring and relaxing approach to patient care and strives to use his extensive knowledge and experience in providing high quality dentistry in complex situations. Dr Bassi is often referred complicated cases from other dentists. He provides a range of treatments some of which include building up teeth, replacing missing teeth, dental implants, treating gum problems, and providing bite guards for a range of conditions including jaw joint issues, snoring, and sleep apnoea.
